[Editor: This testimonial was written by a student of Mystery's, about an experience that he had on a live program with Mystery. At the time, Mystery's company was called "The Mystery Method" -- even when he was teaching it by himself in Canada -- and he also referred to his method by that same name. And so you can see that this student's original writing references that name (Mystery Method). However, Venusian Arts is a new company, unaffiliated with the old Mystery Method corp. Venusian Arts features Mystery, Matador, and Lovedrop, and Venusian Arts does not teach the mystery method. It has developed and teaches new and improved seduction methodology. We want to make it clear that the below testimonial is not a Venusian Arts testimonial. But it is a real and historical student testimonial, written by a student who studied and trained with Mystery in the field. The student owns the copyright to this testimonial and it is reprinted here with permission.]
Wow! What a way to start the New Year. I took the Mystery Workshop here in Sydney , and am incredibly thankful that I did. This is not going to be a full-on field-report (I might post one later), but simply my thoughts, views and insights on the workshop.
First off, I had the pleasure of meeting Mystery and Style a couple of days beforehand and spend some time with them. We didn’t do any sarging, but I was able to get a bit of a feel for who they are, how they view life and just generally how they do things. My first impressions: These guys are cool. Anybody would love to have these two as their friends. They are fun, accepting, interesting and have a good sense of humour. Which made me realize that these qualities are the ones I need to work on – Being a fun guy that attracts PEOPLE naturally, solves so many issues during a pick-up. It lets shields down, disarms obstacles and generally makes people happy. My lesson from this: You’ve got to INTERNALIZE all the material. You’ll be a better person for it. All your skills in PU, will translate directly and benefit you in life.
Talking about attitude, I must emphasize how impressed I was with both Style and Mystery’s attitude towards PU and women. Mystery totally adores and loves women. Seriously, he loves them deeply from his heart. He’s a hopeless romantic and seems to fall in love and almost mild one-itis every time he sees his perfect 10 (much to Style’s and my amusement!). This, I believe is so crucial to PU and is a big part of the puzzle that so many people miss. If you don’t love doing this, and you don’t feel that burning need and desire to get to know a beautiful woman better – to explore and discover her, then you’d better start doing those wrist exercises.
Fast-forward to the Workshop…
I have to commend Mystery on his professionalism. The workshop costs a lot of money (for some folk), and he handles it in an appropriate manner. His presentation is slick. He knows what he needs to say, and he doesn’t beat around the bush. Entering the private lounge where we were meeting up, he already started “showing off”, having fun with all the staff members there. I think all the students suddenly realized “omg, this is going to be amazing!” I went in with the mindset that I should forget everything that I thought I knew about PU, and be open to everything. I got to the point in my life where I wanted to say to Mystery: “Dude, I just want to consistently lay hot chicks. Tell me what to do, and show me how… and I’ll do it.” I wasn’t disappointed.
The first day is a huge information overload. Mystery gives some information on himself, and then launches into his philosophies on women and his theories. Topics range from attitude, peacocking, opening and internal states to closing, following up and just about everything else you can think of in between. This took a good 3-4 hours. But it’s inspiring. Another good aspect was that Mystery and Style took the time to talk to each of us individually, to find out where we’re at in the game, what our sticking points are and what we would like to achieve out of the workshop. And then they tailored the rest of it so that we could.
Mystery and Style both gave a little demo of how to open, and literally.. my mouth hung open in astonishment. I have NEVER seen someone open up groups with such ease and confidence and making it all look so natural. And it was with a crowd that I would normally consider “out of my league” (we were in the vip lounge of one of the most popular and up-market bars in town – there were QUALITY 9s and 10s everywhere… but all sitting down on lounges and not crowded at all – EXTREMELY intimidating to me).
So, having given us the basics, and a rough framework, they assigned us with our material to use and sent us into some sets. Normally I don’t have a problem opening groups, but I’ll admit that I was scared shitless this time. But I did it as Style instructed, and amazingly the 9s and 10s didn’t blow me off. And this was just a practice run. Things would only go better from here.
This was the pattern for the rest of the workshop. Do lots of sets getting comfortable with the material. Sometimes you were alone. Sometimes Mys or Style would join, or just listen from close-by. Sometimes I sat in on their sets. VERY practical and by the end of each night, we’ve had TONS of fun and also a fair amount of success. (by the second night, I could open and entertain large mixed sets without too much trouble).
I’ve read before-hand that some people complained about Mystery and Style sarging too much during the workshop and not really helping the students. My opinion on this was that they’ve given us all the info and theory, and it really helped me get confidence in the material to see them actually work 9s and 10s WITH THE EXACT SAME MATERIAL. There is no way that anybody will internalize and have success with all this in only 3 days. So forget about trying to perfect it. You’ll get a feel for it. And you’ll get about 30 sets under your belt, but that’s just the start. Take some time to watch (and model) the gurus. I learned more from watching Mystery’s actions and gestures and listening to his tonality and pacing, than just reading a routine off a piece of paper.
For instance, I thought I knew some of the routines and have used them in previous sarges of mine, but it turns out my idea of how it should sound and be conveyed differs hugely from Mystery’s. See, in the Mystery Method everything has a purpose. And a specific place in the sequence. And it’s all designed to move the PU in the direction of attraction and a close. Mystery messed up one sarge by skipping one of his 13 steps. The step was in there for a reason, and when he left it out, it didn’t work out. Mystery Method is not “just routines”. It’s a “method”… with some pre-fabricated content to fit that method.
At the end of the evening, we would have a little run-down of how it all went. We’d discuss the problems we encountered, and Mystery would give very specific advice on how to improve and correct that the next time. Also, we’d quickly overview the tactics we used once again.
The next night followed the same structure, but with new material and ideas for us to use, and getting us to go further down the 13 steps of the MM. Ok, this is turning into a field-report, so I’ll stop right there and just give my final thoughts. ;P
Did I achieve what I wanted from the workshop? Yes. My PU skills were unordered, without direction and very random (and redundant, eh!) I was at a plateau and couldn’t find any way to get better. 3 nights of the Mystery Workshop, and already the quality of my PUs have improved. I now only open sets that have a least an HB9 or 10 in there – and I ATTRACT them!! I feel confident in what I have to do, because I have a plan. And I know how to work the plan. And I know the plan works.
Was I skeptical beforehand? Certainly. I have quite a few friends who are natural PUAs. One of my friends slept with 5 different chicks in a week once (including a threesome). Hardly AFC. And still I was completely BLOWN AWAY by the skill Mystery and Style showed. They could pick a SPECIFIC target, come up with a sure-fire strategy to work her set, and do it… with a VERY HIGH CHANCE of getting a close. It’s not a gamble. It’s not a “numbers game”. With a tight game, it’s possible to go for the quality girls that you want and deserve.
Is it worth the money? Absolutely. This was probably the single weekend with the most impact on my life, ever. “Life changing” On the second night of the workshop, it was as if something just “clicked” inside me. Everything became clearer. The confusion was gone. I get scared imagining what would’ve been if I DIDN’T take the workshop.?
Do I recommend it? Let me think about that…. YEEEEES!!!! Two thumbs up.
